A Day in the Life of.....Jenny Doh

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JENNY:

6:30 AM: Eyes are partially open and I fumble to the kitchen to start my pot of coffee.

7:30 AM: Coffee is in my system, eyes are fully open, toast is toasting, and I'm on my computer, checking emails, facebook, paypal, Web site.

7:45 AM: Peanut butter and honey is on my toast that I'm eating, and I'm kissing my daughter goodbye and my husband goodbye as they leave the house.

8:00 AM: I'm in the shower

8:30 AM: I'm dropping my son at his school, telling him "pay attention to the teachers and be nice to the kids."

9:00 AM: I'm back at my home office doing a number of things like:

recruiting Guest Curators
communicating with my staff
fulfilling orders
developing videos
taking photos
making craft projects
planning for new product development for shop
communicating with book publishers
recruiting artists for books
writing/editing books
outreaching to potential advertisers
balancing my checkbook
playing with my puppies
consulting with potential business investors
eating whatever food I can find in the fridge

3:00 PM: I'm in my car, first to pick up my son and then my daughter from school.

3:45 PM: I'm back at home, getting kids a snack and settling them in to get them started on their homework.

4:00 PM: I'm back on my computer making sure that all things related to the next day's home page content is ready and polished.

5:30 PM: My husband is home and he starts cooking dinner. (I know. I'm blessed!)

6:00 PM: We're all eating together a really good dinner. Laughing. Listening. Loving.

7:00 PM: I'm washing the dishes

7:30 PM: Kids are back doing their homework and I'm back on the computer tending to all the above for the business.

12:00 PM: In bed.

Jenny Doh worked as Editor-in-Chief of Somerset Studio and numerous art & crafting magazines from 2004 to 2009.

Jenny’s first book that she co-authored is titled Where Women Create: Book of Inspiration (Lark Books — an imprint of Sterling Publishing, 2010). She served as principal writer and editor for this book, where she interviewed creative women to build rich narratives about their source for creativity and inspiration. Her second book on art and style will be released in 2011.

Jenny is a passionate artist and designer. Her designs involve knitting, crocheting, rubber stamping, mixed-media, altered art, sewing, and quilting. Her projects have been published in numerous publications. Through her body of work, she has established leadership within a design aesthetic that she describes as “artistic minimalism.” In 2009, Jenny was invited by Mary Jane Butters to be a guest writer for MaryJanesFarm magazine.

Jenny is also a passionate and skilled photographer. She describes her photographs as “documentarian chic,” where she captures real life, with a twist of soulful artistry. Her photographs have been published in numerous publications.

Jenny is not only passionate about rubber stamping, she is passionate about creating rubber stamp designs.

To connect the creative passion of the individual and to build an authentic community of like-minded souls that can inspire focused compassion to make a difference in the world is Jenny’s story. It is CRESCENDOh’s mission.
