Mixed-Media Nature Journals: New Techniques for Exploring Nature, Life, and Memories by L.K. Ludwig
Review by Debbie Overton

The nature journal on the cover had my attention immediately. Then as I flipped through the pages, childhood memories of collecting sticks and rocks and wildflowers and acorns and other oddities had my mind going with how many years later I still find myself looking down and collecting these same things. LK has done a fantastic job of sharing unique images in step-by-step instructions and techniques. She makes one want to step out into nature and use the treasures most look over, to create unique works of art. If you’re not into journaling, these ideas for great for use on most any substrate. After purchasing this book, my walks became a scavenger hunt. Now that I walk the beach my treasures include shells, sticks, beach glass and sometimes unidentifiable objects washed up by the tides ebb and flow. This is one of only a few art books I leave out as the imagery is so uplifting and inspiring.
