Today's galleries were recommended by two of our readers and I found both to be very interesting.
Rebeca Trevino lives in beautiful Sonoma County in northern California and is very fortunate to have an abundance of several incredibly amazing and wonderfully creative artists and art lovers surrounding her. Along with this, they have many amazing galleries and other venues to view art.
Quicksilver Art Gallery in Forestivlle,CA. Midway between Sebastopol and Guerneville, the Gallery provides a bright, friendly and professional atmosphere, hosting rotating art exhibitions, salon nights and gallery talks, literary and musical events, receptions, and much more.
Thrilled to represent so many of the fine artists who have become friends since our doors opened on the Russian River in 1983, Quicksilver now welcomes new artists who live beyond Sonoma County’s borders. In the months ahead, shows will feature painting, prints, sculpture, ceramic art, fine woodwork, assemblage and collage - all created by both recognized and emerging artists from Northern California.
Join us for an artist reception, gallery talk, or intimate jazz concert. Stop by on your way to the Russian River or the beautiful Sonoma Coast, and have a picnic in our wonderful Sculpture Garden. Enjoy the incredible diversity of art in California in a friendly and beautiful setting.
Rebeca also recommends Funeria in Graton, CA. Maureen Lomasneyof Funeria enlightened us with more about this wonderful gallery. 2010 is FUNERIA's 5th biennial international year of organizing ASHES TO ART®. This is the show, juried by distinguished arts professionals, that launched FUNERIA in 2001, has earned international acclaim, and is a one-of-a-kind contemporary funerary art exhibition that consistently redefines the typically dreary, functional cremation urn.
Readers of this post who are working in sculpture and 3D forms and are interested in creating uniquely beautiful and original urns, vessels and personal memorial art objects are encouraged to check out our Prospectus when it posts to our website in April.
Thank you Rebeca and Maureen for sharing with our readers these two great galleries.
Do you have a gallery you think our readers would enjoy? Please send me a link and you just might be in the spotlight in a future post.
