Where do your artistic ideas come from? My ideas can come from a song, a quote, that crazy little space I call my mind. Inspiration and eye candy from other artists never hurts either. It is rare that a piece fully forms in my mind before I start. I usually start with a theme in mind and then just add to it as I go along.

What do you do and how did you start? I do mixed media collage and it all started with ATC's. I had a friend who introduced me to Online ATC swapping (Hi Barb!) and it just took off from there. I participated in this genre for awhile, and then wanted to move into bigger formats. I have taken alot of classes and attended a couple of retreats and am constantly trying new mediums.

Share a little of your creative process. My creative process almost always starts with a funky background. I am a sucker for a great, deep, layered background, and I find that when I am happy with that, the focal point and the details come. I use my scanner and printer for a whole bunch of my collage work. I re-print old journal pages, previous works or alter ones I already have. I love to mix and match heads/bodies/arms to create funky characters that work within my theme. Then it's all about the details and finishing touches.

What medium do you work in? My favorite mediums right now are Golden's Heavy body Acrylics in Quin Crimson and Nickel Azo Gold, (I just cannot get away from these two colors) and Shiva Artist Paintstiks. I am finding that while I have little (or no) experience with oil paints, I love these little baby's. I also incorporate stamps and ink and vintage papers.

What type of atmosphere do you enjoy the most when creating? I love to be in my home studio, ITunes open and playing, and usually 1 or 2 instant messenger chats going. I also, almost always, am scanning and emailing to my artist friends, works in progress to get opinions and ideas from them.

Name three adjectives that best describe your artistic style. Three adjectives that best describe my artistic style: Hmmmm, I would say deep (for the colors, not the thoughts!), retro, (I am trying to get away from "vintage") because I love old papers and ephemera, and, I hope, funky. I am working to develop a style that I am comfortable with calling my own. So at this point, coming up with even one adjective that describes my work, is a bit elusive to me. Thanks for letting me share!
