Thanks to Marketplace reader Andrea McNeil we have some very exciting places to visit when in Paris! Andrea found us through Seth Apter's The Altered Page and offered to share some of her favorite places to visit since she lives in Europe. Not only did Andrea share some wonderful places, she has given us directions to get there!
Sennelier ~ Quai Voltaire, Paris. From the Louvre entrance, turn towards the river. Cross the nearest bridge, and Sennelier will be visible on the other side.
Musee de Montmatre ~ Round the back of the Sacre Coeur, Paris. (Going up the street on the left hand side of Sacre Coeur to end, turn left for cafes/souvenir shops/ street artists but turn right for the museum!) Tiny little museum, 5.5 Euro entry fee 2008 price, gorgeous gardens. History of Montmartre from 1880 salon era to 1920s Picasso flapper age. They have an original Lautrec poster that you can practically get your nose against!! One of Paris’s best kept secrets.
Laduree ~ Nearby in Rue Napoleon, (facing Sennelier, go left and then turn right and walk down the street). On the left hand side is a branch of Laduree, THE patisserie/tea room to be in!! One of several branches in Paris.
Entree Les Fournisseurs ~ Near Musee Carnavolet, Paris. Fancy buttons, and ribbon trimmings. Pricey but worth looking.
If you enjoy your stroll through Paris please let Andrea know by leaving a comment. She has been so generous in sharing more great sites as well, which will be featured at a later time.
Thanks Andrea!
